Our story
We started with a question: why does "eco-friendly" packaging still look disposable?
Charboo began in 2021 with two founders, a bamboo grove in Assam, and a frustration with greenwashed packaging. Every product we sell is designed to be used up completely and returned to soil — no mixed materials, no "mostly recyclable" fine print.
01
Rotational harvest
Every grove we source from is cut on a fixed multi-year cycle, never clear-felled.
02
Artisan-first pricing
Weavers and soap-makers are paid per piece before we set retail price, not after.
03
Single-material design
No product mixes plastic with plant fibre — it complicates composting and we skip it entirely.
04
